Bennett Wrubel
Bennett J. Wrubel of Boynton Beach, FL & West Hartford, CT died on April 8th after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Samuel & Fannie (Becker). Bennett was pre-deceased by his wives Sandra (Diner) and Shirley (Schocett) & brothers Lewis, Jerry and Melvin. He is survived by three children, Rhonda Perlroth (William), Robert Wrubel (Garry Greer) and Sherri Jefferson (Allan), four grandchildren, Denise Zamberk (Andres), Erica Clement (Nick) & Seth and Noah Jefferson and three great grandchildren, Simon, Gabriel and Owen. Beloved by many nieces and nephews. Bennett spent his career working for Bob's Stores in Middletown. He was a veteran of the US Army & a lifetime member of the Mason's and Shriners. He spent the last year and a half in the loving care of Wingate Nursing Home in Sudbury, MA where he was affectionately known as "Mayor of Wingate". Services will be held at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT on Wednesday, April 11th at 11:00 AM. Interment immediately following at Emanuel Cemetery, Wethersfield, CT. Following interment the family will receive relatives and friends at the Perlroth home, 73 Ferncliff Drive, West Hartford, CT 06117. Shiva service at 2:30. Donations may be made in Bennett's memory to the Resident's Council Fund, Wingate at Sudbury, c/o Dina Ferreria, 136 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776. Donations will provide bird feeding stations outside of patient's rooms.
