Sharon Chasen passed away on May 30th at Care One at Redstone in East Longmeadow, MA after a long and determined fight. Sharon was born on April 27th, 1943 in Hartford, CT to Samuel Brenner and Eva Shapiro. She graduated from Weaver High School in 1961 and went on to work at Pratt Whitney and Kaman, as well as run her own business Chasen Sales. She married the love of her life Arnold Chasen on September 5, 1965. They made their home in Bloomfield, CT and had two sons, Lester and Robert.
Sharon enjoyed fine dining, theater, knitting, reading and bowling. She was always there to help a friend or family member and will be remembered for her volunteer work at her synagogue Beth Hillel and as a bingo caller for assisted living residents.
She is survived by her son Robert, his wife Lori and their children Michael and Audrey, her son Lester, his wife Kim and their daughter Tatyana, her sister-in-law Nancy Chasen and brother-in-law Don Spero, her niece Laura Spero and her family, her nephew Ricky Spero and his family, her best friend Tobie Katz and her in-law Sharon Band.
The family would like to thank the staff of Care One at Redstone and Baystate Hospice for their efforts and compassion. A graveside service will be held at Jonathan Lodge Cemetery, 313 Tower Avenue, Hartford, CT on June 1st at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rabbi Philip Lazowski and Rabbi Jeremy Master. The family will be receiving visitors at Sinai Temple in Springfield on June 1st at 2:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Sinai Temple or to a charity of choice.
