Abner N. Adler, 97, of Jupiter FL, formerly of West Hartford, died Monday, April 21, 2008. Born in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of Moses M. and Ida (Bluestein) Adler. A 1931 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, he moved to Hartford in 1933, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Jacob Bluestein in the cigar wrap tobacco business in Manchester, Adler & Dobkin. In 1937, he married Naomi Hope Friedenberg having two daughters, Carol R. Adler of Cambridge, MA, and Merry Adler of Washington, DC. Naomi died in 1966. He then married Edith Tepp Roth who died in April of 2007. Besides his daughters, he leaves a granddaughter Marisa Naomi Adler. He also leaves behind two of Edith?s grandchildren who were special to him: Rob Roth of Boston, and Melissa Roth of Texas. He was one of the first members of Tumble Brook Country Club, Bloomfield, a club champ, and a great golfer. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 11:30 AM in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
