Kochkin

Obituary

Aleksey Kochkin, 28 years of age, of Albany, NY, formerly of Avon, died Friday, May 10, 2013. Born in Ukraine, he is the son of Leonid and Anna Kochkin of Bloomfield. He also leaves his paternal grandmother, Leah Shor in Israel; his maternal grandmother, Raisa Burchak of West Hartford; his half sister, Anna Kochkin of Kiev, Ukraine; and five cousins.

Aleksey graduated from Avon High School, and received a BS from Hofstra University, Hempsted, LI, NY. He entered the Ph.D. program at SUNY University at Albany, and was working as an assistant professor.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 17, 2013 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Joseph Gopin officiating. Interment will follow at Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson St. Ext., Avon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Chabad House of Greater Hartford, 2352 Albany Ave., West Hartford 06117 or to SUNY University at Albany, 1400 Washington Ave., Albany 12222.
