Marge Rosenthal, 94 of West Hartford passed away peacefully on December 2, 2013. Marge was born on September 25, 1919 in Norwalk, CT and was the daughter of Abraham and Janette Cohen. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years Ben. Marge is survived by her daughter Maxine (Rosenthal) Moncini, her son-in-law Ray, her sister Beverly Johnson of North Carolina, her niece Barbara Anderson and husband Gene of North Carolina and her nephew Lance Johnson of North Carolina. Marge loved her family and made Maxine and Ray the center of her life. Marge had a great mind with a passion for books and literature and always discussed her years as head proofreader for Bowne & Co. in New York City as one of the great experiences of her life. She was proud to talk about editing major newspapers and publications, including the New York Tribune and was quick to quote a famous author or poem or help with correct usage of our language. She could read a 400 page novel in an afternoon and was expert at crossword puzzles and word games. She was quick with a smile, had a great sense of humor and enjoyed everyone she encountered. Margie was very active, she enjoyed music, visiting the casinos, bingo and loved to exercise, riding a stationary bike every day until very recently. Marge also loved animals and setting a dog or cat on her lap was accepted as a wonderful gift. Marge most recently lived at The Reservoir Health Care in West Hartford. Thanks to the physical therapy department, the CNA’s and nurses. Special thanks to Marge’s extended family– Chuck Howard, Allyison Burton, Guytri Bnola, and Wendy Schmitt. Funeral services will be private and arrangements have been entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
