Anna Hurowitz Lublin, 98, passed away in Naples, FL on April 19, 2011. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Esther Hurowitz. She attended Hartford High School and Columbia University, NY. She lived most of her married life in West Hartford before moving to Florida in 1988. Anna was the wife of the late Dr. Raymond Lublin, and upon his retiring as a surgeon, together they built and operated the East Hartford Convalescent Home and the Middletown Haven Convalescent Home. She was a major benefactor to Johns Hopkins Medical School and created the Anna and Raymond Lublin Chair in surgery there. She is survived by her three sons and their wives: Dr. Bernard Lublin and his wife Bobbie of Naples, FL, Deltaville, VA, and Richmond, VA; Attorney Richard Lublin and his wife Jane of Naples, FL, Hyannisport, MA, and Avon; and her son Attorney Gerald Lublin and his wife Sheri of Lenox, MA, and Long Boat Key, FL; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; and a wonderful sister-in-law Dr. Ann Witus of Cary, NC. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Rose Hurowitz of West Hartford and her sister Francis Aaron of North Carolina. Funeral services are private and there are no calling hours.
