Arnold Mendelsohn, 75 years of age, of Winterset Lane, Simsbury, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Philip and Evelyn (Koch) Mendelsohn. He was Vice President of Engineering for Otis Elevator, Farmington, having initiated the Elevonics 101 program, and had worked there for over forty years. He was a member of the Limestone Trout Club. He leaves his wife, Phyllis (Hymowitz) Mendelsohn, two sons: Douglas Mendelsohn and his wife Beth of Newington, and Stephen Mendelsohn of New Britain; two grandsons: Joshua and Jordan; and a sister: Claire Diamond of Pahrump, NV. The family wishes to thank the people at the Helen and Harry Gray Center at Hartford Hospital, McLean Hospice, and the Hebrew Home & Hospital for their care and compassion. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed at his home, 15 Winterset Lane, Simsbury, and at the home of his son Stephen, 171 Hartford Road, New Britain.
