Barbara Kleinman, 89, of West Hartford, CT died Friday, November 4, 2016. Barbara was born in Hartford, CT on May 31, 1927, the daughter of the late Morris and Ida (Smuckler) Stein. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Leo of sixty-one years. Barbara graduated from William Hall High School, West Hartford, and attended Traphagen School of Fashion, NYC. She worked for Loring Studios as a portrait colorist, and in the early 1960s she established Barb-Lynn Creations, putting her artistic talents to work creating flower arrangements. Barbara was an avid golfer at Rockledge Golf Club, West Hartford, winning the Senior Club Championship in 1977 and 1979, and the Town of West Hartford Championship in 1986. Barbara also enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, painting, and playing bridge and mah jongg with her friends. She leaves a son Ron Kleinman and his wife Brenda of Barkhamsted and their children: Brian Kleinman and wife Sara of East Granby, Brooke Kleinman and Jason Frascino of Coventry; daughter Donna Harris and husband Steven of Avon and their children: Jennifer Smith and husband Mike of Avon, Lauren LeGault and husband Kevin of North Grafton, MA, and Katie Harris of NYC; and daughter Beth Blum and David Parker of West Hartford and her children with Steven Blum of Canton: Keith Blum and wife Karissa of New Britain, David Blum of Israel, and Matt Blum of Wethersfield; and eight wonderful great-grandchildren. A private service will be held at Beth El Cemetery in Avon.
