It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin Gross, of Avon, on May 24, 2024. A consummate gentleman, he was respected and loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He shared his life with his wife, Renee, for 69 years and had a beautiful marriage filled with romance and companionship. They met at a local dance and, after that moment, their love for each other was unwavering.
Benjamin always had a teaching spirit, admired for his patience and guidance by those that sought his wisdom. In his earlier years, he enjoyed being a dance instructor and also enjoyed teaching children how to play baseball. He was a sports enthusiast that always enjoyed watching the game and, more importantly, sharing with his family and friends all of his in-depth knowledge of the different teams and players.
Benjamin always spoke proudly of his grandson’s achievements as a classical musician; and loved to be surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Renee, daughters Gail Sacks and Cheryl DiPaolo, sons-in-laws Hal Sacks and Douglas DiPaolo, and grandson Darren Sacks. Benjamin will always be remembered for his gentle spirit and his empathy towards others.
Arrangements were entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary in Hartford on May 28, 2024, and a private burial followed.
