Charles Yaffa, 93, of West Hartford, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014. He was the husband of the late Sylvia (Sachs) Yaffa. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Morris and Anna (Chesick) Yaffa. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his adoring daughter, Joan Yaffa Segal, of blessed memory. Charles was a US Army veteran of World War II and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. He is survived by his devoted son-in-law, Howard Segal of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Lori Segal of NY, and Adam Segal and Sadelle Chain Segal of MA; his great granddaughters, Hannah Joy Segal and Julia Sage Segal; his brothers Louis Yaffa and his wife Claire and Irv Yaffa, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the United Synagogues of Greater Hartford Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Following the interment the family will receive relatives and friends at the home of his son-in-law, Howard Segal.
