Charlotte (Ticotsky) Brick, 93 years of age of West Hartford passed away on October 10, 2017 with her family by her side. She was the widow of Dr. Sidney Brick. Charlotte was born in New Haven Connecticut, the daughter of Anna and Nathan Ticotsky. She always had her heart in Hartford, Meriden, and West Hartford.
During her career she held many notable positions some of which included President of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, Board of Directors of the B’nai Abraham Synagogue in Meriden, Active member of the Meriden and West Hartford Democratic Town Committees, Board of Ethics for the City of Meriden. Chairman of the Meriden Housing Authority, New Haven County Jury Commissioner for fifteen years and one year in Hartford. Life member of the Hebrew Home and Hospital Auxiliary, Hadassah, and the Emanuel Synagogue. In January of this year Charlotte was honored as the Democrat of the Year by the West Hartford Democratic Town Committee.
She was married to her beloved Sidney Brick, DDS, who passed away in 2004. Charlotte leaves her son, Lawrence Brick, and his wife, Lonnie. Their children who adored their grandmother are Jason, Sheri, Adam and his wife Renee. She also leaves her daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Howard Nitkin, granddaughters Jaymie Clark and Erica Pinkus, and four great-granddaughters Emma, Peyton, Sydney, and Molly. Charlotte had a wonderful and active life and said “that if she had to do it again , she would live her life the exact same way”. Charlotte had a great run and loved it!!!!
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 pm on Sunday, October 15, 2017 in the Sanctuary of the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Dr., with Rabbi J. Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Following the interment the family will receive relatives and friends at 25 Cassandra Boulevard, West Hartford. Shiva will continue Sunday through Tuesday evening, October 17, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at 25 Cassandra Boulevard, West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Emanuel Synagogue or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
