Charlotte

(Levy)

Wice

Obituary

On February 13th 2014, six days shy of her ninety fifth birthday Charlotte’s spirit was set free to once again dance with her beloved Raymond, hug her sister Rhoda Marcus and kiss the cheeks of her mother and father Sam and Mae Levy. Charlotte’s family will be forever blessed by the love, encouragement and guidance she bestowed upon them. Her legacy will be carried forward by her children, Michael and Carole Wice of Bloomfield, Nance Wice of Newington as well as Joy and Joel Barton of Sterling VA. She also is survived by her brother Norman Levy of West Hartford. The pride she held for her grand children Daniel, Robert and Samara was evident always. Her seven great grand children Michaela and Molly Corbitt, Olivia, Sophia and Timmy Wice as well as Max and Anna Wice were Mama’s ultimate pride and joy. Her love and devotion to her entire family knew no bounds. After raising her family, Charlotte loved her years spent in the children’s department at Lord and Taylor’s where she took delight in dressing each and every child to the nines. Later while residing at The Gables in Farmington with Ray the new friendships that were developed were held dear to her heart. Her inner circle of friends were life long friends from Vine St. as a child to her graduation from Weaver High School in 1937. Charlotte was a beautiful, strong and compassionate woman who will truly be missed by everyone that knew her. In her final year spent at The Reservoir in Farmington, Charlotte was surrounded with new friends and abundant compassion that gave her a sense of inner peace. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday February 18, 2014 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave. Hartford with burial in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Following the service family and friends are invited to the home of Michael and Carole Wice of 24 Hampton Ln. in Bloomfield. To honor Charlotte’s avid love of reading donations in her memory may be made to Friends of the West Hartford Public Library 20 South Main St, West Hartford CT 06107 or at www.westhartfordlibrary.org

My Auntie Charlotte was without a doubt the definition of "lady". She was beautiful both inside and out. Her laugh was genuine and infectious. I enjoyed my visits with her, especially when I brought one of my foster babies with me. She would get such a kick out of holding them or just watching them. I am sad for our family as she will be missed. But I know for certain, that my mother Funny will be thrilled to see her.

Charlotte was many things, a wife, a mother, a grand mother, and a great grand mother, but to me best of all a dear sister in law..Always a smile on her beautiful face, always a pleasant word to some one, and we can never forget her artistic talents.
