Daniel Feldman, 90, of Ellington, formerly of Davie, Florida and New York, New York died Saturday, (August 29, 2009) at Hartford Hospital after a long illness. He was the loving and devoted husband of Lily Feldman for 66 years and missed her dearly since her death on October 17, 2007. He was a wonderful and supportive father to his three daughters, Lois, Carol and Joan, and a worshipped and beloved ?Papa? to his grandchildren Andrew and Lauren. He was so proud of and loving to his children, grandchildren, and his son-in-law Dr. Martin Keibel. He was a courageous soldier in World War II, was awarded a number of service medals, including a purple heart, and had countless stories to share of his war experiences in Europe and North Africa. He attended Yeshiva University, loved his work and pursued all of his dreams. He was an active volunteer for Veterans of Foreign Wars and devoted significant time to making sure that veterans were properly cared for. He was also a volunteer at Hartford Hospital with his wife Lily and was always so generous to others who needed his help. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Rizvi for all his wonderful care, attention and support, along with all of the exceptional nurses and physicians at Hartford Hospital who cared for him in his final days. He will be dearly missed, but will live on in our hearts and memories. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hartford Hospital for the Lily Feldman Fund, c/o Fund Development, Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour Street, Hartford, Ct 06102 or at hartfordhospital.org.
