David B. Slobodien, 95, of Gail Dr., Ellington, formerly of West Hartford, husband of Lillian (Harrison) Slobodien, died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Albert and Sophie (Rogers) Slobodien. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Beth El Temple, West Hartford, and the Hartford Sick Benefit Association. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons: Alan Slobodien and his wife Fatima of Ellington, Michael Slobodien and his wife Bonnie of White Plains, NY; and five grandchildren: Richard, Sarah, Elana, Jeffrey and Alicia. Funeral services will be held TODAY, Friday, June 29, 2007 at 2:30 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Ilana Garber officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford Sick Benefit Association Cemetery, Garden St., Hartford. A private period of mourning will be observed by the family.
