Dorothy (Greenstein) Rudis, 92 years of age, of Old Bethpage NY, beloved wife of 58 years to the late Morris Rudis, died Friday, May 5, 2017 at Seabury Meadows in Bloomfield CT. Born June 12, 1924 in New York, NY, she celebrated her birthdays on June 13. She was the daughter of the late William and Celia Fanny (Schoenberger) Greenstein. Dottie was predeceased by her cherished sisters and brothers, Helen, Lena and Rita, and Sam, Murvin and Adolf. Dottie grew up in the Bronx, graduating from Theodore Roosevelt High School. She enjoyed summers at Rockaway Beach. She attended City University of New York where she met her lifelong friends, Jean and Harry Schneider. She enjoyed folk dancing, traveling and cooking for her family. Dottie supported Morris in his dream of driving across the United States with the family in 1969. She and Morris continued to have great fun driving south to Colonial Williamsburg and Walt Disney World every winter for many years. Dottie was a friend to everyone with her warm smile and caring attention, she could walk into a room and instantly make a friend. Dottie worked at Bloomingdales as an assistant buyer in furniture. After moving to Long Island, she worked for Dorman Cheese Company in Syosset NY for many years. She was a devoted caregiver to Morris in his declining years but they always continued to have fun. Dottie spent the last eight years at Brookdale Senior Living where she enjoyed all the activities with her friend Linda, especially playing Scrabble every day. Dottie is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda and her husband Arthur Carlson III of Manchester CT and Robert and his wife Catherine of White Plains NY and their children, LeAnna, Arthur Carlson IV and Islam Bilalovski of Manchester CT, Mackenzie Rudis of Rosendale, and Zachary and Skylar Rudis of White Plains NY. Dear Linda ,
We are so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing and pray hers was a peaceful death.

Having just read your Mom's obituary it is interesting to note the similarities in your lifestyle. Your shared spirit in adventure and outdoors. And we hope you have lots of good memories to think about to reflect as you begin the stages of rief. You've joined a club that I , Jeanie, belong to ...being a adult orphan. The realization of that role can be hard to accept. And should that be the case for you and for many other feelings of emotion of loss remember to surround yourself with the same people you hold closest to your heart.

May the peace of God be with you.
Tom And Jeanie Corning
