Dr. Arnold Irwin Greenberg, age 82, current resident of Paradigm Health Care Center, long time Simsbury resident, passed away on April 12th after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s. Born in Hartford, CT, the son of Milton and Bessie (Davis) Greenberg, he attended Hartford public schools. Arnie received a B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut. Following graduation he married his childhood sweetheart Marion Aster Kadish. He received his D.D.S. from Temple University. Following his education he served as a captain in the U.S. Army. He returned to CT and established his dental practice in Collinsville, CT where he practiced until his retirement. Arnie was a life long musician. During his college years he formed a band where he played clarinet and saxophone. He was active with community theatre and the Simsbury Community Band. Marion and Arnie were founding members of the Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation. Arnie served as president from 1965 to 1966. Arnie kept active dancing, playing bridge, tennis, and skiing at his VT chalet. Arnold was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Marion (Kadish) Greenberg, brother Richard Greenberg, and daughter-in-law KellyJo Greenberg. He is survived by three sons; Michael D. Greenberg of Windham, NH, his wife Frannie and their three daughters Elysha, Kaylee and Jaycie; Steven K. Greenberg of South Windsor, CT and his wife Cynthia Greenberg and her children Audie and Heather Nash; Marshall L. Greenberg of West Simsbury, CT, his wife Lori Stethers and their children Daniel, Kaitlyn, and Adam. He leaves nieces, nephews and many friends including Sandra Roth of Delray Beach, FL. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 17th, in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT. Burial will follow at Farmington Valley Jewish Cemetery, Mountain View Ave, Avon, CT. Memorial remembrances may be made to the Arnold Greenberg Memorial Fund @ Simsbury Community Band, P.O.
