PODOROWSKY, Dr. Seymour B. Podorowsky, 88 of West Hartford died Friday, June 17, 2005 at home. He was the loving husband of the late Florence (Bloom), and a devoted son, father and grandfather. Born in Hartford, the son of the late Jacob and Anna (Goor) Podorowsky, he graduated from Weaver High School in Hartford. He also graduated from Trinity College in Hartford and Tufts Dental School. Dr. Podorowsky served as a dentist in the US Army during World War II serving in New Guinea and the Philippines. Dr. Podorowsky practiced dentistry in the Hartford area for 50 years before he retired in 1998. For many years, he late wife was his office manager. He also volunteered his dental services at the Hartford Dispensary. He was a member of the Connecticut State Dental Association, the Alpha Omega Fraternal Dental Society, the West Hartford Regents, and Beth El Temple of West Hartford. He is survived with great affection by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Joel Fishman and their children, Jason and Julie Fishman of Sharon, MA; by his son, Gary Podorowsky of New York City; and by his loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Leon Podorowsky. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 2005 at 9:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Temple Cemetery, Avon. A memorial period will be observed at his home Monday following the funeral through Tuesday evening.
