Edith Berigow Grossman, 96, of West Hartford, Connecticut died peacefully Sunday (April, 20th, 2014). She was a native of Norwalk, Connecticut and lived there for most of her life. She was the beloved wife of the late Herman Grossman for over 60 years. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Dora Berigow of Norwalk, Connecticut. She was a vivacious woman of many interests including her love of design and antiques, fashion, golf and most importantly, her family. Survived by her brother Walter and Helene Berigow of Florida. She leaves behind her daughter Jill Ruffkess Stoner of West Hartford, and her son Jed and his wife Stephanie Grossman of Aiken, South Carolina. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Dorie and Seth Cohen of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, Wendy Ruffkess Freed of West Hartford, Connecticut, Sarah and her husband Jason Jersose of Gretna, Virginia and Adam Grossman, of Aiken South Carolina. She was the adored great grandmother of Matthew, Joshua, Abigail, Marissa, Ali and Lily Anna. A private grave side service will be held in Norwalk, Connecticut. Shiva will be observed Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Somerset Community Room, 1 King Philip Drive, West Hartford, Connecticut.
