Elukin

Obituary

Edward Elukin, 92 years of age, of West Hartford died Monday, August 21, 2017. He was the husband of the late Harriet Ruth (Beck) Elukin. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Nathan and Clara (Shachter) Elukin. Edward was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving as a medic in the Battle of the Bulge as well as helping to liberate several concentration camps. Edward graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, and received his undergraduate degree in English from the University of Michigan where he also received his law degree. He spent most of his professional life in sales for various carpet manufacturers. He leaves his son, Jonathan Elukin of West Hartford; and his grandson, Benjamin Elukin. He was predeceased by his sister, Bernice Newman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, Wolcott Rd., East Granby. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jewish Family Services or St. Francis Hospital.
