Ed graduated from Brown University in 1969 and earned an MBA in Finance from the Wharton Graduate School. His entrepreneurial career spanned four areas. He worked in the packaging industry, in real estate development, in the promotional products industry, and as a medical manager/consultant. He also taught real estate finance at the University of Hartford. Ed was a volunteer at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center and at Gifts of Love in Avon. Ed was passionate about travel. He has seen all seven continents and visited more than seventy countries. He enjoyed safaris and was fortunate to have been on five of them with his favorite one being on the Serengeti Plains in Tanzania.
Funeral services will be held at 12:15 PM on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Ilana Garber officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Temple Cemetery, 51 Jackson St., Avon. Following the interment the family will receive relatives and friends at The North House, 1 Nod Road, Avon at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mildred Glasband Memorial Fund.
