Elaine Weinstein, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 5th, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was the daughter of the late Gussie and Irving Friedland. She grew up in Hartford CT where she attended Hartford High School. Elaine worked at Cigna for 18 years and was recently living in West Hartford CT with her beloved husband Saunder. Elaine also leaves behind her sister Rosalind Friedland of West Hartford CT, her children Craig Weinstein and his late wife Paula of Brookline MA, Peter Weinstein and his wife Donna of Wethersfield CT, Ellen Gold and her husband Steven of Redding CT, and Paul Weinstein and his spouse Mike Rauske of Prior Lake MN. In addition, Elaine leaves behind her grandchildren Ross Weinstein and Dana Colas, Michael and Adam Weinstein, Samuel and Benjamin Gold as well as her great grandchildren Zoe and Hudson Colas. Elaine and Saunder were married on March 8th 1953. They had recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. They enjoyed traveling and had an opportunity to visit places all over the world. Elaine loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and Saunder showered them with love and affection. The family that they created was her greatest source of pride and joy. Funeral services will be held on Monday May 9th, 2016, at 1:00 PM, at Beth Hillel Cemetery, 15 Wolcott Road, East Granby CT. Services will be followed by a meal of condolence at Beth Hillel Synagogue,160 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield CT.
