Eleanore B. (Gerst) Reiner, Esquire of White Pine Lane, West Hartford, CT, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 17, 2017. She was the widow of Dr. Leo P. Reiner. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Sarah Gerst. Eleanore graduated St. John’s University School of Law at a time that women were virtually denied admission into law school. She was a proud member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford, CT as well as Tumble Brook Country Club, Bloomfield, CT. She leaves behind her three children; son Jeffrey Reiner and his wife Marcy of Farmington, CT, son Michael Reiner and his wife Sheila of Farmington, CT, and daughter Nancy Brooks of Simsbury, CT. Eleanore Reiner is survived by her sister Wendy Gerst of NYC and her nephew Adam Lyons of Nashua, NH. Additionally, she leaves behind her eight loving grandchildren; Todd, Eric, Jackie, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Abbie, Sarah and Jacob and nine great-grandchildren; Mandy and Paige, Gavin and Audrey, Michael and Jonathan, Max and Samara, and Brayden. Eleanore also leaves behind Angela Nowak, the family’s lifelong loyal friend and companion. Private funeral services for the family will be held on March 19, 2017. The family will receive relatives and friends at Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Avenue, West Hartford, CT, on March 19, 2017, from 1 P.M to 4 P.M.
