Esther Kaufman Sackter died Tuesday (March 18, 2008) at McLean Home in Simsbury. Esther was born in Hartford to the late Benjamin and Ida (Kaplan) Kaufman. She was the widow of David Sackter. In her adult life she was a champion bridge and scrabble player, an avid bingo player, and a friend to all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Stephen and Adele Sackter of Prospect, Faith and Dick Brayer of Simsbury; her cherished grandchildren: Robbin and Scott Dobkins, Jason and Cindy Brayer, and Heidi and Jonathan Yablonski; as well as her pride and joy great-grandchildren: Shane, Jamie, and Amber Dobkins, and Zachary Brayer. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff and care-givers at the McLean Home as well as the angels of McLean Hospice in Simsbury. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford with Rabbi Howard Herman and Cantor Sue Levine officiating.
