As a student in Naylor School, in the "50's, I was not a student in Miss Kutz classroom. However, I have fond memories of her. She was like a breath of fresh air. She was colorful and enthusiastic. Her Conga drum was the hit of many assemblies. I loved her scarves and the way she carried herself with such flair. Yes she certainly was a breath of fresh air and I hope life was good to her.

I read with enormous interest the notice of Ethel Kutz's passing. I did not know that she was in the area all these years or I would have written her at least one note in remembrance of her great teaching at Naylor School.
I cannot count the times I've mentioned Ethel's successful and common sense techniques during my teaching career. I retired in 2003.I've often recalled how her classes scored the highest in the MAT tests and that she never abandoned the methods that worked no matter what was occurring in the field of education.
Ethel was also very modest about her accomplishments, personal and professional. And I see that this modesty was also reflected in her obituary. I recall that she had completed a master's degree in psychology from Columbia University at a time when it was an enormous accomplishment, especially for a woman. But this type of assessment would never have come from the Ethel I worked with and for only two years.
I hope that this note honors her memory in some small way. It is my great pleaure to recall Ethel, her personality and her work. In God;s goodness, he honored her with a long life.

With sweet memories and prayers,
Charlotte Fasi
