Evelyn

Cohen

Obituary

Evelyn Marie Cohen was born to Joseph Emanuel and Ruth (Liebel) Emanuel on June 21, 1952. The family moved from Brighton, England in the 1960s and settled in White Plains, New York. She obtained her Associates Degree in Theater from Dean Junior College. She was swept off her feet by a stocky crooner from Spring Valley, Gary Michael Cohen. They were married in 1974 and moved around until settling in Newington, Connecticut where they raised their family. Their home at 120 Patriot Lane was filled with love, laughter, their kids’ friends and piles of clothes. She was always bringing people together and founded and ran multiple successful dating services. Gary passed away suddenly in 2003 and after a few years in the wilderness Evelyn found another Gary, Gary Moody with whom she spent her last 14 years. Evelyn lived for her kids and grandkids, and spent her last days playing with her 3 year old buddy, Tito. She is survived by her loving sister Fiona Emanuel Joffe, her son Jordan and Jodi Cohen and Sydney and Jake, her son Jaron and Carrie Cohen and Henry and Leo, and her daughter Marisa and Dan Masciadrelli and Greyson, Wesley and Theo. Those who knew her were blessed to know her and the world is forever less fun without her in it. She will be buried next to her husband Gary at Temple Sinai Memorial Park and the family will be holding a private celebration of life reception on December 28th.
