George Epstein, 85 years of age, of King Edward Rd., West Hartford died Friday, October 15, 2010 at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ruth (Polinsky) Epstein. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Herman and Goldie (Sackrowitz) Epstein. George was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He was vice president and general manager of Nassau Furniture for 43 years before joining Farm Tek as national account manager. He was a member of Beth David Synagogue of West Hartford, the Jewish War Veterans, and West Hartford Regents. He leaves his daughter, Harriet Goldsher and her husband Barry of Avon; his son, Larry J. Epstein of Sunapee, NH; cherished grandchildren, Marc Epstein, Daniel Epstein, Emily Goldsher, Lacey Goldsher, and Tessa Goldsher; brother, Jack Epstein and his wife Harleen, Irving Epstein and his wife Sandra both of Florida; and sister, Shirley Piasek and her husband Abe of Raleigh, NC. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Rivkin.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Beth David Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield with Rabbi Yitzchok Adler officiating. Shiva will be observed at the home of his daughter, 149 Woodford Hills Dr., Avon, with a service Sunday evening at 5:45 p.m..
