I'm so sorry for your loss. Harris was a good friend and colleague. I'll always remember the times we worked together at Pratt & Whitney.

There were eleven first cousins in the Weingold family and we saw each other almost weekly at Grandma Kate's apartment while we were growing up. Summertime was when Harris and I interacted most, he was 6 years younger than I, and I watched him with admiration as he grew to be the sweet and gentle "mensch" that we all loved. He will be missed.

From the time that our extended family of cousins would meet as children on Friday nights at Grandma Kate's, I always admired Harris' bright analysis of everything. He was a year older than me and I marveled at the model airplanes that hung from the ceiling of his room in Sam and Bess's West Bronx apartment. I celebrate that he achieved his childhood dreams of a life in aeronautics and shared such a rich life in his community. With sadness that he has passed, I am grateful that for bits of his life I was there.

Harris and I worked together for many years in the Compressor Group at Pratt & Whitney. I fondly recall collaborating with him on design projects, technical papers and patents. My most lasting memory of him was his innovative thinking and perception. I will miss his friendship.

I am very sorry that I was not able to attend the funeral. Harris was one of the first people I worked for when I joined Pratt in 1969. I valued his advice and developed a high opinion of Harris as an engineer. Please be assured of my deepest sympathy.
