Gilston

Obituary

Irving Gilston, 100 years of age, of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of West Hartford, Connecticut, died Monday, April 9, 2018. He was the husband of the late Lina Gross Gilston. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School in 1939. During World War II, he served as a Captain in the US Army. After many years as a financial advisor at Prudential Securities, he retired in 1994. He leaves his daughter, Sandra Gilston Hutzler, and her husband, Albert D Hutzler, III, of Palm Beach, Florida; dear friend, Belle Ribicoff, of Hartford; his grandchildren, Albert D Hutzler IV (Sheri) and Irving Gilston Hutzler (Meryl); great grandchildren Henry, Ilana, Phillip, Aidan, Jake, and Joe; and nieces and nephews. Warmest thanks to the physicians and staff of The Brigham and Women’s Hospital for a lifetime of care and kindnesses. A private service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

I have so many fond memories of Irving. We were neighbors. He was always such a kind nice person. Sandy and I were good friends and I was in the house alot and we always talked. I miss those good old days.
