Jack H. Ziskin, 64, of West Hartford, died suddenly on Tuesday (October 23, 2007) at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. Jack was the beloved husband for 37 years of Irene (Grant), and the adored father of two sons, Scott and wife Ashleigh of Simsbury and Kevin of Delray Beach, FL. The happiest part of his life was being Zayde to grandchildren Ryan and Jenna, of Simsbury. He is also survived by his brother Paul and wife Diane of West Harford and nephews Gabe and Andrew, mother-in-law Lillian (Avroch) Grant, brother-in-law Allan Grant and wife Beth Passehl of Woodstock, GA and their children Michael and Alexandra, and sister-in-law Phyllis Dermer of Blaine, TN. Jack leaves a host of friends too numerous to mention. He was an ardent and long-time NY Yankees fan. Jack was born in New Britain to Louis and Bess (Dariff) Ziskin. He was a graduate of the UCONN School of Pharmacy and for many years owned and operated pharmacies in Hartford. He worked as a consulting pharmacist for many nursing homes. He was past president of the CT chapter of ASCP and co-president of Value Health Care Services, until he retired in 2001. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. Friends and family may call at Jack and Irene?s home after the funeral, and Saturday evening through Monday.
