It is with great saddness that I learned of Jack's recent passing. He was a rare individual who made those of us who needed his wisdom and insight feel important. His insight may, at times, have been a little painful, but in hindsight, on target. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to the entire family.

Jack and I were friends.
There is no doubt that he was a good man. Would I say he was a 'great' man? No, for great is merely today. But good; good is just good. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
I was the beneficiary of his wisdom, his compassionate nurturing manner.
He was neither offended nor angered by my questions, which were many. That just was not his style.
He took each question, gave it his attention and his best 'shot' for an answer.
He always displayed a patient, humane manner, as well as a quieting yet insightful style.
He could sense those times when I felt troubled, and with a little prompting by him usually yielded a meaningful, helpful conversation.
He made me feel important, like I mattered in this world. This was especially true during those occasions when I felt entrenched in sadness. Friends are like that, you know.
Jack and I were friends.
