Debbie & Alan:
I was shocked when I just read about Jessica. Thoughts and prayers coming your way.
Jessica Amy Schnur Thomas, 40, of Clinton died Friday, November 24th from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Jessica was surrounded by her loving family and friends at the time of her passing. Jessica was born in Hartford, CT on November 10, 1977 to Alan Schnur and Deborah (Skal) Schnur. Jessica leaves behind her loving family, her parents Alan and Deborah Skal Schnur, her brother Craig Schnur of Middletown, her twin brother Jason Schnur of Newington, her grandmother Doris Schnur of West Hartford, her nephew Anthony Schnur of Wethersfield, her “sisters” Michele Arsenault Soler, Sara Michaud and Chrissy Pappa. Jess also leaves her loving aunts and uncles: Donald & Toni Schnur of West Hartford, Elizabeth & Mark Lucyk of West Hartford, David & Nancy Skal of East Hartford and Sharon Anderson of Plainville along with numerous cousins and a host of close friends. Jess was predeceased by her Grandfather William Schnur, Grandmother Erma Skal, Aunt Maurine Arsenault and Uncle Michael Schnur. Jess was full of life and just lit up a room when she walked into it. She always had a big smile and her positive attitude was contagious. Jess loved to travel, loved the beach, and loved her family and friends. Jess was our shining light and Dancing Queen. Everything with and for Jess was an adventure; every meal, every trip, every new wine, everything was the best! Jessica worked at Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in Newington, as an Admissions Representative. Jess enjoyed working with the students and many of the staff who she considered her “work family”. In addition to her full time career, Jess was pursuing her degree at Albertus Magnus College. Jess’s family would like to thank the Trauma Emergency Department and Neurological Trauma ICU for the excellent care she received. An extra thank you to the nurses in the ICU who showed such compassion and respect to Jess and to our family. A memorial service with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating will be held on Tuesday November 28 at the Westbrook Elks Lodge, 142 Seaside Avenue, Westbrook, CT at 11:30 A.M. which was Jess’s “happy place” on the water, with a lunch immediately following the service. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the home of Alan and Deborah Schnur at 55 Uncas Road, Clinton, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hartford Hospital Trauma Unit or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT. Jessica's presence at CCMT will most certainly be missed. I have Jessica to thank for my pursuing a massage therapy education as I questioned my decision all the way to signing the paper work and showing up for the orientation. Jessica called to check in, encouraged me with very personal reasons (she got to know me and figured out my "why") and ALWAYS greeted me with love and respect through my time at CCMT. Jessica clearly had a heart bigger than many and a soul that shined beautifully bright. Rest in peace, Jessica, and may your family and friends be blessed with all of the happy memories and with the amazing energy and legacy you've left behind.

Debbie, Alan, Craig, & Jason,
I'm so very sorry to hear of Jess's passing. I have so many fond, happy memories of Jess and I growing up together ; the fun times hanging at Jeffrey La, the many fun, silly adventures through all of our school years, and our times during Sunday school days and all that included. Jess had a wonderful, contagious, fun spirit for as long as I knew her. I hold many memories dear during this hard time. You are all a special family to us and we hope that the love and support of your family and friends will guide you. I know that Jess will always be with you all and her presence and wonderful spirit will never fade, she will be missed dearly.

We were lucky to coach Jessica for one year on the Newington Marauders. She was incredibly coachable, and we loved watching her speed down the field. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
