John Finney Finesilver of One Hamilton Heights Drive, West Hartford, passed away on November 25th, 2008 at Hartford Hospital at the age of 75.He was the son of the late Dr. Edward Max Finesilver and Marcella Finesilver Salzman. John graduated from the Loomis School in 1947 having been on the Honor Roll for 4 years and accompanist for the Glee Club. He graduated from Trinity College where he earned a Phi Beta Kappa key. Subsequently, he moved to Boston and received a Masters Degree in Biochemistry from Brandeis U. He was employed by Smith Kline Beecham Clinical Labs for 26 years. Johnny’s two great loves were classical music including opera, and baseball. His prodigious memory for baseball events entertained us at many a family gathering. He leaves his sister, Frances Blumenthal and brother-in-law Sam of Bloomfield, niece Betsy Blumenthal and Jonathan Root of San Francisco, nephew Edward Blumenthal of West Hartford and nephew Laurence Blumenthal of Jerusalem; also great-niece Charlotte Blumenthal and great-nephews Noah and Nate Blumenthal, Max and Arthur Root. John was extremely intelligent, talented, funny, appreciative, and above all, courageous. There will be a graveside service on Sunday, December 7th at the Beth Israel Cemetery on Affleck St. at 1:30 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
