GOLDIN, Joseph Goldin, 91, of Brewster Rd., West Hartford, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the Hebrew Home & Hospital. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Morris and Ida (Bronsk) Goldin. Joseph graduated from New Haven College of Pharmacy. He began his long pharmaceutical career managing the former Midtown and Weaver drug stores in Hartford. He co-owned and operated the former Normandie Drug in Hartford. After closing the business, he went to work for AARP Pharmacy in East Hartford until retirement. He was a lifetime member of AARP, a member of the Knights of Pythias, and Level Lodge No. 137 A.F. & A.M. Joe was an avid football and baseball fan. He was predeceased by his first wife, Martha (Katz) Goldin. He leaves his wife, Judith (Cook) Shvetz Goldin; his sons, Irving S. Goldin and his wife Barbara of Vernon, Arnold S. Goldin and his wife Miriam of Boca Raton, FL and Virginia Beach, VA, and Mark Shvetz and his wife Janet of Glastonbury; his daughter, Susan Pedersen and her husband Robert of Ivoryton; his sister, Sylvia Goldin of Hartford; his grandchildren, who fondly called him ?Papa Joe,? Marc Goldin, Jennifer (Goldin) Bundy and her husband Eric, Michael Goldin, David, Justin and Todd Shvetz, and Kiersten Pedersen; and his great-grandchildren, Jacob and Nathaniel Bundy. He was predeceased by his brothers, Louis and Alec Goldin. The family wishes to express its appreciation to the staff of the Hebrew Home & Hospital for the compassionate care given to Joe. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2008, at 2:30 pm, in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Marshal Press officiating. Interment will follow at the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed at the home of his granddaughter, Jennifer Bundy, 74 Brimwood Dr., Vernon, Thursday following the funeral, Friday through sundown, and Saturday evening.
