We were unaware of this great loss. Larry was so helpful to my family. Always there when we needed him and with a wonderful smile and great sense of humor. The world is a sad place without him. My condolences to his friends and family.
Lawrence ‘Larry’ Samuel Brick, 74 years of age, of West Hartford, CT passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, surrounded by the love of his family. Born November 25, 1945 in Hartford and raised in Meriden, he was the son of the late Sidney and Charlotte (Ticotsky) Brick. Larry was a graduate of Avon Old Farms School, Marietta College, and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. His passion for helping others was unmatched, reflected in the kindness with which he approached everything both personally and professionally. Larry was an attorney for nearly 50 years, 32 of which he had his own practice specializing in Workers’ Compensation. Described as fair, brave and willing to compromise, he was well respected within the legal community and beyond. As a community leader, he was an active member and contributor to a number of organizations including Jewish Federation, West Hartford Democratic Town Committee, and Jewish Family Services, for which he served as a president. Throughout his life, Larry was valued by colleagues, friends and family for his advice, guidance and compassion. In his spare time, he was an avid sports fan, athlete, music enthusiast and follower of current events. Above all else Larry cherished the time spent with family and friends. Larry was a beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Larry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Arline ‘Lonnie’ (Roth) Brick; his three children, Jason Brick and fiancée Katrina, Sheri (Brick) Kiley, husband Patrick, and son Jackson, Adam Brick and wife Renee; and his sister Joyce Nitkin. According to Jewish tradition, there are 36 righteous people whose good deeds, generosity, and devotion to others sustain the entire world at any given time. Larry was one of those people.

Our deepest sympathies to the entire family. I just learned of Larry's passing.
Larry inspired me in so many ways throughout my life. If I ever needed direction Larry was always there to offer ideas. During our tough times Larry would always tell me things would be o.k. Every day, I strive to lead by example as Larry did for me. Be the things you loved most about the people who are gone. Larry's kind spirit was always contagious. You will be sadly missed my dear friend.

I am so sorry for your loss. Larry was our Attorney for over 20 years. He was the most kind person I ever met. My husband has been in a convalescent home since 1993 and Larry put in hours and hours into our case at very little cost and most of the time for no cost. I will always respect him and always appreciate his kindness.

Dear Lonnie and family and Joyce,
I was very sorry to learn today from Roger of Larry's passing. I have many fond memories of growing up in our special neighborhood in Meriden, with Larry, Joyce, and his parents.
Sid was our family dentist. (I still have the four teeth he pulled in 1963, before I started my orthodontia)
I have many fond memories of playing in the Brick's backyard and with their chihuahua, what was his name?
Phoebe and I enjoyed connecting with Larry and you at events at Roger and Marge's house in Woodbridge.
May Larry's memory be for a blessing.
Sincerely,
Phoebe and Don

Larry was a great resource, particularly for dealing with the State Banking Commission, and was generous and always happy to share what he knew. I think I recall that he was the lawyer for a group developing one of the first Bonanza Restaurants in West Hartford, and he knew what the securities laws required.
He will be missed.

I knew Larry when we were both young lawyers working for the Banking Department. I enjoyed working with Larry. Above all, I remember his commitment to the Jewish community. He sold us tickets to a concert Mary Travers put on to benefit Soviet Jewry, which was very inspiring. Thanks to Larry, this inspired me several years later to sponsor a Russian Jewish family that was moving to this area. I’ve never forgotten that inspiration from Larry. May his name be for a blessing.

We were so saddened to hear of Larry's passing. He was such a kind, giving, and understanding person. We would often come to him for advice, as our children were growing up together, and he was always so kind and helpful. He was unquestionably the consummate professional as an attorney, a passionate community leader, and a warm, caring family man. In addition, he truly cared for others, always putting their needs, before his own. He was a true mensch whose kindness and good deeds will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, my friend....

I have had the pleasure of practicing in the same realm has Larry for many many years. He was the essence of a true gentleman and a true legal professional. I always enjoyed our interactions and considered him one of the "good guys" in the workers compensation bar. I will miss seeing Larry out in the trenches but will hold his memory fondly. May he rest in peace.

Larry was a man of many talents, but always humble. I met him as a lawyer on the other side of my workers' compensation cases and he became a friend. My trips to the workers' compensation office will not be the same without him. I was surprised to learn when I first got to know him that he had a career doing banking law before he became a WC regular and that he played baseball and ran every day. He had a wonderful wry sense of humor, a gentle style, and a kind and compassionate heart. Most of all, I will miss schmoozing with Larry. He always caught me up on our mutual friends and had something interesting to say. I will miss him.

This is an occasion in which even I am at a loss for words. Larry and I were friends and colleagues for close to 50 years. All that has been said about him by us is really only the tip of what Larry meant to all of us.
Kind, compassionate, generous to a fault, he stands as the example of what we all should be and should hope to be.
Rest well, my friend.

It pains me to see that Larry has passed. He was a great advocate and support system for me and so many. Sometimes he would think of others before himself. He was courageous in his battles with his health over the years, and yet was there with eternal optimism, a smile and never complained. We would share a long friendship and especially while occupying the same professional office spaces. He was a dedicated husband, father, son and friend, as well a pillar of the community. The last time I saw him was at my wife’s memorial service just six months ago, and was so appreciative to have his company. If anyone deserves a life celebration it is Larry and I am saddened that the state of current affairs is preventing it. But somehow Larry would understand that. Larry , you were brave and honorable. Rest In Peace my friend! My sincerest sympathies to the entire family.
