Leo Kleinman of Lawler Road, West Hartford, died Thursday, January 8, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Isidore and Mary (Pahuskin) Kleinman. Leo, lovingly known as ‘Pidge’, was a graduate of Weaver High School, Hartford and from Bentley College, Waltham, MA with a degree in Accounting. He worked as a public accountant for 40 years until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford. He was an avid golfer playing at Rockledge Country Club, West Hartford and had two career holes-in-one. He loved going to the Jewish Community Center for water aerobics and made many friends while exercising there. He will be missed by all who knew him. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Barbara (Stein) Kleinman; a son: Ronald B. Kleinman and his wife Brenda of Barkhamsted and their children Brian and his wife Sara of East Granby, Brooke Kleinman of Ellington; two daughters: Donna Harris and her husband Steven of Avon and their children Jennifer Smith and her husband Mike of Avon, Lauren and Katie Harris of Massachusetts; Beth Blum of West Hartford and Steven Blum of Bloomfield and their children Keith, David and Matthew of West Hartford; and two wonderful great grandchildren: Hanna and Grant. He was predeceased by his brothers Albert and Benjamin Kleinman. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth El Temple Cemetery, Avon.
