Louis “Lobs” Mandell, of Simsbury Road, West Hartford, died Thursday May 12. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Abraham and Rachel Mandell. He was a member of Temple Beth Shalom of Manchester. He was predeceased by his wife, Selma Mandell . He leaves behind his son Marshall and his wife Suzie of Potomac Falls, Maryland, his son Dr. Carl Mandell and his wife Cruz of Manchester, CT, and his daughter Shelley Mandell and her husband Scott of Pawcatuck, CT. In addition, he leaves behind his brother Max “Nosh” Mandell of Farmington, CT and a close cousin, Ronnie Goralnick of West Hartford, CT., as well as four grandchildren, Michelle Mandell, Geordan Mandell, Robert Mandell and Randy Mandell. Lobs was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Air Force. Funeral services will be held TODAY, 11 a.m. at the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby. Shiva will be held at the home of Carl and Cruz Mandell, 88 Sass Drive, Manchester, following the funeral through Thursday morning. Evening services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday. On Friday at 8:15 p.m. and Saturday Mincha at 7:50 p.m., services will be at Temple Beth Sholom. Morning services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday at the Mandell home.
