Margaret Mary Murtha Klau, 68, of Avon, died Wednesday (April 3, 2013). She was married to Arnold H. Klau for 37 years. She was the daughter of Edward Bernard and Victoria Murawski Murtha. She was born in Hartford and attended Weaver High School. Margaret was a home builder and real estate agent as well as a devoted wife and mother. Her interests included home design and decorating, she was a voracious reader, gardener, and enjoyed cooking and travel. She is survived by her children Ira Palten Klau and his wife Shelly of Southington, and Amy Victoria Morneault-Mentz and her husband Brian, of Jacksonville, VT, and Rachel Klau Sandage and her husband David,of Forest Grove, OR, and Benjamin Baruch Klau and his wife Joan, of San Francisco, CA; five grandchildren: Connor Morneault-Jaroncyk, Samuel and Sidney Klau, and Joshua and Timothy Sandage.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, Wolcott Road off of Floydville Road, East Granby, with Rabbi Philip Lazowski officiating.
