Marion Lefkin Eisenberg, 81, of Bloomfield, CT, died peacefully after a long illness at Hebrew Home and Hospital on Dec. 26, 2010. She was born and raised in the north end of Hartford, CT, where she met and married the love of her life, Richard Eisenberg. She graduated from Weaver High School in 1947. Marion, also known affectionately as, “Mimi”, loved people. Always “the life of the party”, she never forgot anyone’s birthday or anniversary. Marion’s devotion to family and friends was unwavering. After raising her three children, Marion kept busy with work and volunteering. She worked in retail at Loehman’s Department store and Decker’s Clothing store for many years. She delivered Meals-on-Wheels with her husband and was a long-time member of B’nai B’rith and the Sisterhood of Temple Beth Shalom. Marion loved boating and spending time at the beach at Watch Hill, RI. She was high-spirited and could not keep herself from dancing and tapping her feet whenever she listened to big band music.
Marion leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Genie and Russel Watsky of Ossining, NY, son and daughter-in-law, William and Susan Eisenberg of West Simsbury, CT, daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dennis Jordan of Agawam, MA; and grandchildren, Seth and Jonathan Watsky, Erica, Julie and Renee Eisenberg. She leaves her sister and brother-in-law, Edie and Art Block of Buffalo, NY, her sister, Lillian Slonim of Boca Raton, FL., her sister-in-law, Joan Lefkin of West Hartford, and many nieces and nephews to whom she was like a “second mother”. She will be missed dearly by all.
Marion was predeceased in May of this year by her husband of 56 years, Richard Eisenberg; also predeceased by her brother, Albert Lefkin, and her brother-in-law, Nathan Slonim.
