Martha Neustadt Witkin, 99, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, Bradley Campus in Southington
She was born in Boston, MA and graduated from Roxbury High School in 1931. She and her husband Francis, co-founded the West End Laundromat and the Park Street Laundromat in New Britain where they lived for many years. She won the CT top lottery prize in 1975, and they retired to Dania Beach Florida in 1980.
Martha was predeceased by her husband, Francis A. Witkin who died in 1993 at age 82; she moved back to CT in 2006. Martha was a 6 year resident of Mulberry Gardens Assisted Living in Plantsville and most recently Southington Care. The family wishes to thank the dedicated and caring staffs of Mulberry Gardens, Southington Care, the Hospital of Central CT Bradley Campus, and Dr. Leonard Glaser for the treatment and care of our mother.
She is survived by three sons, Laurence and his wife Ricka Witkin of North Palm Beach, FL and Farmington, Alan and his wife Patricia Witkin of South Windsor, and Neal Witkin of New Britain. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, Keith, Scott, Jeffrey, Jonathan, Brian and Tracy, and 3 great grandchildren, Brooke, Paige and Peyton. She also leaves her former daughter-in-law, Donna Witkin of Marion.
Funeral Services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
