Obituary

Martin “Marty” Climan, 98 years of age, of West Hartford, husband of the late Hilda (Gitlin) Climan, died peacefully, Monday Sept 10, at Hughes Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary (Keyser) Climan. Marty graduated from Weaver High School. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and served in World War II and was a former Mason. He was a member of the United Synagogues of Greater Hartford, Beth El Congregation of Old Lyme, the Wolkowysker Society Cemetery Association, the Jewish Federation as well as the West Hartford Regents. Determined and dedicated to his work in retail and sales, Marty retired at the age of 88. He leaves his devoted children, Candace Schoenewolff and her husband Bob of Wrentham MA and Rick Climan and his wife Beth of Farmington, his grandchildren, Nicholas, Sula, Benjamin, Jacob, and Jonathan Climan, and Matt, Kaity, and Jared Schoenewolff and his great granddaughter Rose Climan. He also leaves his sister Edie(Climan) Handleman. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Lara Climan, and his siblings, Lawrence Climan, Ruth(Climan) Pappas, and Sol Climan. Funeral services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice.

hi, so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was partners with my Dad in a couple of grocery stores and was a good friend of my parents. Our families were goos friends with your Mom and Dad. You have our deepest sympathy. He lived a good long life, May he rest in peace
