Max Potish of Farmington died on Thursday, September 13, 2006. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by his family and everyone who knew him. He was born in the Bronx, NY on May 5, 1921. A long time resident of Bloomfield, CT he enjoyed his retirement years in Boca Raton, Florida with his wife Florence. Max proudly served his country as a US Army Veteran of the 749 tank battalion in World War II. He named his tank after his wife, Florence. He was a member of the Hartford Mutual Society; a long time member of the Beth Hillel Synagogue, Disabled War Veterans and many other charitable organizations. He was a Mason of the Hiram Lodge in Bloomfield, a past member of the Bloomfield Zoning Board of Appeals and a Justice of the Peace. Max was a devoted and caring husband and father. Max is survived by his wife of 61 years, Florence (Dorfman) Potish, daughter Barbara Potish Parlee, son-in-law Harry Parlee, son Marc Potish of Farmington and Karen Kloter. Max was a great “Uncle Max” to his nieces (Claudia Jacobson and Hillary Gebler), nephews (Michael, Benjamin and Daniel Jacobson) and other family members. He made many friends throughout his work as a regional sales manager for Fern Foods and owner of Wintonbury Realty Service and through his service to the community. He was predeceased by his sister Lillian Falk, sister-in-law Shirley Sloane and brother in law Myron Dorfman. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2006 at 10:00 AM, at the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, 175 Wolcott Road, East Granby.
