Melvin H. Mildwurf, 66, of Silo Way, Bloomfield, died suddenly on Thursday, January 26, 2006. Born in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Salo and Irene (Szanto) Mildwurf. He was a US Army Reserves veteran. Mel was a member of Beth Hillel Synagogue, Bloomfield, a member of the Jewish War Veterans, and for over 30 years he was a high school football official. He leaves a son Bruce Mildwurf and his wife Linda of Mobile, AL; a daughter Ilyce Mildwurf Chizmadia and her husband Robert of Newton, MA; three grandchildren: Sawyer, E.J. and Marley Mildwurf; and his devoted friend and companion Helen Giller of Bloomfield. He also leaves his best buddy Gizmo. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 29th at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Edward Friedman officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, Wolcott Rd., East Granby. A memorial period will be observed at the home of Helen Giller, 30 Silo Way, Bloomfield on Sunday following the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
