Michael Adam Kellogg, 24 years old, died on Wednesday October 27, 2010 in Tel Aviv, Israel. He was born on July 2, 1986 in Hartford. Michael was a 2005 graduate of Rockville High School, and a 2010 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he received a Bachelors in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy and Prelaw Studies. Michael graduated cum laude from UNCG, was an executive member of the Legal Professions Association, a member of Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society and a volunteer for Guardian ad Litem, a position where he was a court appointed advocate for abused and neglected children. Michael was a member of Temple Emanuel, in Greensboro, NC where he enjoyed volunteering for the Jewish community, including work at the soup kitchen and the Temple Jewish Festival. Michael was an avid Yankees baseball fan, and a devoted follower of NASCAR and Whalers Hockey. Michael enjoyed summer vacations in Pemaquid Point, ME where he loved climbing the rocks, fishing and eating lobster. Michael leaves behind his parents, Beth and Bruce Kellogg, and his brother Aaron Kellogg, of Vernon, his fiance Hope Fargis of Reidsville, NC and his grandparents, Arlene Weitz and Don Saar of Longmeadow, MA, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael, an animal lover, also leaves his beloved rat terriers, Gizmo and Bella. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, November 4th in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford. Interment will follow at the Knesseth Israel Synagogue Cemetery section of Ellington Cemetery.
