LEBOWITZ, Mildred (Larman) Lebowitz, 87, of West Hartford, died Saturday, January 3, 2009. She leaves a devoted daughter, Marilyn Rothberg and her husband, Brian Rothberg, of Wayne, PA; two loving grandchildren, Joanna Glushakow and her husband, Adam, and Jonathan Rothberg and his wife, Jennifer; a great-granddaughter, Lily Hannah Glushakow; sisters-in-law, Naomi Larman, Natalie Lebovitz, Shirley Lebowitz, and brother-in-law Gilbert Lebovitz and his wife Linda; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Albert, and two siblings, Lillian (Larman) Smith and Julius Larman. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Weiner) Larman. Mildred was a secretary in the Bulkeley High School library in the Hartford Public Schools. In retirement, she and her husband ran an antique furniture refinishing business. They were long-time members of the Emanuel Synagogue of West Hartford and Mildred was a Life Member of Hadassah. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM, in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue,
Hartford, with Rabbi Philip Lazowski officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, Wolcott Rd.,East Granby. A memorial period will be observed at the home of Alisa Lebovitz, a niece of Mildred’s, 150 Mohawk Drive, West Hartford on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
