Miryam Birman of West Hartford Connecticut, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday April 15, 2017. She was born on October 1, 1934 in Botosani, Romania and was a survivor of the Romanian Holocaust. Miryam graduated from a technical school specializing in infrastructure building and worked in her field until 1980 when she immigrated to the United States with her husband. She worked for the Travelers Insurance Company for 24 years until she retired in 2005. She is survived by her beloved husband Oscar, her son Herbert and her grandchildren Norbert, Josef and Michal. Burial service will be on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at 10:00AM at the Congregation Beth Israel 701 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford followed by service at the Beth Israel Cemetery, Avon. Shiva will be observed at Miryam and Oscar’s home. Weinstein Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
