Morris S. Sigal, 93 years of age, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, formerly of West Hartford, CT, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2009 at East Cooper Regional Medical Center after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Florence “Frumae” (Furshpan) Sigal. He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law; Joni and Bob Siegel of West Hartford CT, Francee and Herbert Edelstein, and Lorrie and Arnie Stein, both of Mt Pleasant SC. In addition he leaves a sister, Gloria Galin and her husband Alfred Galin of Delray Beach FL; and sisters-in-law, Julia Eisenberg of West Hartford, CT and Eleanor Trachtenberg of Lake Worth, FL; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Morris was born in Hartford CT, February 15, 1916, and was proprietor of Wolcott Hill Market, along with his late brother, Julius Sigal for 40 years. He and his late wife retired and moved to Delray Beach, FL, where he lived for 30 years before moving to the Sandpiper Convalescent Home, Mt. Pleasant, SC. He was an avid Red Sox fan.Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Interment will follow in the Agudas Achim Synagogue Cemetery, Cleveland Ave. Ext., Hartford. A memorial period will be observed Sunday following the interment at the home of Joni and Bob Siegel, 37 Fuller Dr., West Hartford.
