Nancy (Levy) Goodman passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022 with her family by her side. Her family and many friends loved her dearly. Her thoughtful elegance and warm smile lit up a room. Everyone was instantly welcomed into her home and heart. She devoted her life to family and had a special unbreakable bond with her grandchildren. She was a fiercely loyal friend and maintained friendships since her childhood. She enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards, shopping and seeing her grandchildren every chance she could. Mrs. Goodman was born in Hartford, CT in 1945 to Samuel and Ethel Levy. She grew up in West Hartford and lived there most of her life. She graduated from Conard High School and then spent the next four years, earning a degree in Education from the University of Hartford. Mrs. Goodman started her teaching career at the Laurel elementary school in Bloomfield, CT and eventually moved on to the Goodwin Technical High School in New Britain, CT. After taking time off to raise a family, she re-entered the work force at Cigna Insurance and, later, Lincoln Financial Group. Towards the end of her college experience, she met the love of her life, Bob Goodman (her Bobby). Together they traveled and enjoyed life to the fullest, always coming back to their roots in West Hartford. She was an active member of Beth El Temple in West Hartford, as well of the JCC and Suburban swim club. Later in life, Bob and she spent their winters in Florida, moving between Boca Raton, Del Ray Beach and Boynton Beach. She loved the warm weather, sitting by the pool and playing MahJong with the ladies. Mrs. Goodman is survived by her husband, Robert, her son, Jeffrey and his wife, Beth, two grandchildren: Benjamin and Matthew, her brother James Levy and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will take place at the Beth El Cemetery on 51 Jackson Street in Avon, CT on September 23, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
