Nettie Frank Kaplan, 88 years of age, of West Hartford, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Born in Montreal, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Hilda Frank. A long time resident of Hartford and then Bloomfield, she was a retiree of Connecticut General and a member of Congregation Beth Israel of West Hartford. Nettie was predeceased by her husband, Alexander David Kaplan, and then later by her dear companion Marvin Gaylor. She was also predeceased by her sisters Raizel and Goldie. She is survived by her children: Richard Kaplan, PhD and his wife Attorney Sherri Steinmetz and family of Woodbridge, by Deborah Kaplan Brindis and her husband Luis of New York City, and by David Kaplan, Esq. of West Hartford. Most important of all and most important to Nettie, she leaves behind her grandchildren: Diego Brandis, Daniel Kaplan and Alex Brandis who will always affectionately remember her as ‘?the Bubby?’. A private grave site ceremony will take place today, Friday, June 18th at 11:00 AM at the Beth Israel Cemetery, Ward and Affleck Streets, Hartford. A memorial to honor her life will be held at the home of David and Daniel Kaplan, 162 Selden Hill Dr., West Hartford, on that Friday afternoon between 4 and 7 PM.
