Noel Davidson passed away peacefully Tuesday evening March 28th. He was born and raised in the Bronx, NY to the late Florence Nadel and Charles Davidson on May 5, 1932. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, and serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean war, Noel began his lifelong career in retail with Casual Corner in 1963 when the company had 7 stores. By the time he retired in 1992 Noel had added several divisions and grown the company into Women’s Specialty Retailing with more than 1,800 stores and over 22,000 employees. After retiring he joined his wife, Marsha, in running BODYTALK until it was sold in 2021. Noel was an avid athlete, jogging daily since his thirties, but his true passion was basketball. At age 75 he was still playing in the over 40 league! He also loved to ski and play golf. Noel is survived by his wife, Marsha Davidson, three daughters: Linda Davidson (Peter Soboroff), Caren DeMarche (Michael), and Lori Hurwitz (Steve) and two step children: Ben Mirkin (Kate) and Sarah Mirkin. He also leaves five grandchildren: Jaron, Will, Matthew, Jen and Josh; and two step grandchildren: Raya and Hannah. The funeral will take place at the Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation, 55 Bushy Hill Road, Simsbury, CT at 12 noon on Thursday March 30th. Burial following the service will be at the Farmington Valley Jewish Congregation Memorial Park, 50 Mountain View Avenue, Avon, CT. Visiting hours after the burial will be at the home of Marsha Davidson, 17 Ardsley Way, Avon, CT, with Shiva services beginning at 6:00 pm.
