Pauline Borden, of Athol, MA, formerly of West Hartford, daughter of Isadore and Ida Borden, died on Sunday, (June 3, 2007). Pauline was born in Hartford on September 18, 1916. She was a graduate of Weaver High School, Class of 1935B and a graduate of the Hartford Secretarial School. Pauline was employed by Emhart Corporation for 25 years until her retirement in 1981 and for many of those years she worked as the supervisor of a large staff in the comptroller’s office. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel and was an active participant in the Congregation’s seniors’ program. Pauline had a circle of very close friends who cared for her and for whom she cared. She loved to travel and enjoyed the arts, especially performances at the Bushnell. Pauline is survived by her brother, Jack Borden and his wife, Jeanette, nieces and nephews, Gail Pepin, Jeffrey Winnick and his wife, Marjorie, Blair Ruocco and her husband, Neil, and Deryl Borden, several grandnephews, grandnieces, great-grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and dear friends, Gladys Norman, Lillian Ginsburg, and Michael, Linda and Susan Gillespie. She was predeceased by her sister, Gertrude Winnick. Contributions in Pauline’s memory may be made to Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06119. Funeral will be at graveside at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 5th at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating. There are no callings hours. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
